February 2011. Coalition was a special one off collaboration between Kurtz and Bradford Bahamas. The performance took place in the Dickens club at the now demolished woodmill studio complex in Bermondsey, London.
With less than a few days to prepare, both groups decided on a 30 minute set of 4 parts. The performance was loosely improvised and included the Kurtz song 'Jungling'.
Kurtz: Bass VI guitar, electric guitar, highwood drums.
Bradford Bahamas: modified Juno synth (hooked up to bass drum), medium wave radio, and their custom made audio/visual tower (description below)
'A bank of old tube T.V's and monitors (CRT's) emit electromagnetic fields (EMF’s) which are absorbed by the human body and channelled to a sound system for sonification. Ones proximity to a screen controls the amplitude and each CRT can be independantly tuned to emit a desired sound.' (www.bradfordbahamas.com
